Yesterday has become history. Tomorrow is difficult to fathom. Today is my life, your life, and everyone's life. Today is the easiest day to get control of and manipulate. Today is the day for us to decide whether to venture a step further towards success or to look back in sheer pessimism.
Yes, I must say that: The best day in life is TODAY!!!
Okay, that statement may sound weird and leave everyone to raise their brows, while fidgeting the joy behind an ordinary weekday. Time comes and goes; it can travel as slow as a tortoise; however, it travels as fast as space shuttles too. Zoom! A day is gone. It is now another chapter in out life journals. Well, why bother about today? Every single day is dreadfully monotonous. We rise and shine at dawn, have breakfast and go to school or work, feeling recharged. Later, it is the drooling work schedules or endless lessons. After a weary day, we return to our comforts of home, refresh ourselves and go for meals. It is then up to us to either indulge in leisurely activities, or work as tenaciously as a bee to get things done. Soon, it is time to call it a day at night.
Is it what a day is all about? NO!
A day is definitely not merely about such daily humdrum. Can you imagine travelling through your life journey in such a mundane manner? Well, if you really regard life THAT simple and plain, you are rest assured that you will never go anywhere. On the contrary, every single passing day is another hope for a wonderful future, and another inch closer towards your dreams.
Let us give this dull story of a day a makeover...
I woke up at dawn, feeling bedazzled and amazed by the beauty of the warm sunshine. Feeling energetic, I sprung out of bed and head straight to school after a nutritious breakfast. I could remember every single detail of the lessons taught and complete my assignments in school. at the same time, I won the poetry recital competition. I was brimming with happiness after weeks of preparation, and my trophy was shining magnificently under the sun.
Back at home, I had to make a leeway to two tuition classes after lunch. Yet, it was alright, since tuition classes were initiated to reinforce comprehension in the lessons learnt in school. By the time I arrived at home, It was already six. How could I miss my daily thirty-minute workout? All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Come nightfall, I pushed myself to do some revision before calling it a day. Ah, today is such a beautiful day. Success, wait till I attain you soon!
Obviously, that is for students. Anyway, such day is way more amusing and rewarding than those mundane, hopeless days which covers only studying (or working), eating, sleeping and waking up. When does that fun-filled, anticipated day happen?
Yes, you do not get me wrong. It is TODAY.
Our ancestors constantly remind us that "time and tide wait for no man". Well, there are certainly some wits in it! If a day called "Today" is wasted, it will soon degrade into "yesterday" and get the boot into history. In fact, if time really reverses, and the Earth spins from East to West, it is a miserable sign that the End of the World is near. Today is the day you plant the seedlings of Hope. Today marks the impulsive moment for you to put in meticulous effort to realize your lifelong dreams. today, a brand-new you is born. Today is a day with a twenty-four hour boundary, it is in your hands.
Let us face it. You can never regret on the yesterdays.Let bygones be bygones. Today is the day to cheer up and get geared up for the rest of your life! Here is the question: How to get motivated in just twenty-four hours?
To kick start the day, sober-up-but not too suddenly-by some simple stretching and a positive mindset. You will feel energized to go through the daily humdrum with a difference. "Ah, today's a new day! I am going to..." remember to carry out some simple planning of the daily activities to keep you on track. As the saying goes, "failing to plan means planning to fail". As a student myself, I will only talk about the tips for those on the school frenzy to utilise the day.
To begin with, discard the negative mindset that "tomorrow, I still have the chance" Hey you, with such a mindset etched in your brain, you will not have any specific day to strive towards a vibrant adulthood. Oh no, in fact, you do not need any specific day to work hard because the day is TODAY. Students often carry the "tomorrow" attitude, and to be frank, tomorrow is endless. You may even risk losing the ticket to pursue your ambitions, thanks to your attitude and ignorance to wait for the day that never comes.
Next, after all those plannings for the day, wait no longer-just go for them in full force and high spirit! Remember that "out of sight, out of mind". If you place your plannings aside, soon, you will get them out of your mind. Your plannings and strategies will sum up to a nil, and eventually, you will end up with nothing but a dull, sleepy day. today, while the vibrant colours of the memories and colours have not fade, place them in your studies and hobbies. In this way, you will quickly jump into the mood of endless activities and work. The only difference is that they are quite enthralling rather than boring during those lazy days. If you maintain your spirits and guts high, everyday is today, and those high ambitions will be fairy-tales no more. They will appear in front of you, beckoning you to taste the fruit of your efforts that you have laboured in so far.
Really, nothing is impossible. God is fair and just, He gives everyone twenty-four hours a day to spend. Thus, strike while the iron is hot, unless you have photographic memory, which is extremely rare among us. Take your lessons from yesterday, transform and work tenaciously today, and you will see a bright tomorrow ahead.
